Yah, I know, there's nth much in the market accept getting squashed, pushed, bang into. But for the faint hearted, please dun read this, it is an utterly gross entry. But I just have to write about it. One dun get to see it everyday.
Went to a fish stall. My mother wanted to buy fish. While waiting, noticed 4 田鸡(tian ji) in a fish tank. (the plastic portable kind) They were squatting there not moving at all. I was wondering how the uncle sell them, when he did a live demo.
Took two of the 田鸡 by there hindlegs and hit them hard against the steps behind his store. Really hard, can hear the sound. Decided that I will not watch the killing.
But then, after that, my curiosity got the better of me, continued watching. (At least the sound of the 田鸡 got hit against the stone steps stopped). He used a tool peel off their skin, cut stomach and pull the internals out. No comments.
After he went back to give the customer the 田鸡, I looked at the 田鸡 left in the cage. They look absolutely forlorn. They looks like they already know their fate and just sit there wait for it to happen. I think they got a good view of what the fishmonger did.
Saw the fishmonger telling my mother sth when he went to washed his hands. Asked mother wat he said. He said that the killing of the 田鸡 is like operation.
